Seven trapped ducklings were rescued from a storm drain Saturday on the Long Island Expressway, according to authorities.
Suffolk police officers and Department of Transportation members responded to the scene near the westbound lanes between exits 62 and 63.
They worked together to lift the storm drain cover and retrieve the animals.
Police say the ducks have been released to Long Island Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation.
